Offerings

With your mind filled with devotion, now make extensive offerings by reciting the following verses while visualising each substance completely filling all of space in every direction:

[5] Eight Common Offerings

Here, visualise the common offerings of water for washing, water for drinking, flowers, lights, perfumed water, food and music:

After arranging all of the various offerings
[And visualising] a great canopy of common offerings,
Extensive rays of light establish them.
We present these offerings to the great being, the Glorious Lama.

[6] Clothing

Next, imagine a great host of goddesses, each carrying rolls of fine cloth that can be used to adorn the body:

I offer the light and soft clothing of the gods to be worn on the vajra-body of Akshobhya. If I offer with undivided faith [and devotion], may I too attain the vajra-body!

[7] Food and Enjoyments

Then imagine goddesses presenting the Lama with a vast banquet of food and drink. Think that each offering is of the nature of great bliss.

Protector, even though you do not have hunger or thirst,
Nectar waters of milk, molasses and essential nutrients;
Extensive food and drink, which possess [various] colours, smells and tastes,
The sublime food which connects everything,
I offer these to experience the great bliss of Samantabhadra.

[8] Seven Precious Items

Then, offer the seven precious items as well as all manner of ornaments and useful items which are given to a Wheel-Turning King:

After conjuring immeasurable offerings of the seven precious items of the King—
precious wheels, jewels, queens, ministers,
elephants, horses and supreme commanders;
May I offer [these] to the supreme lama.

To the lama and the assembly of mandala deities,
I offer swords, hides, gardens and homes,
[as well as] precious clothing, bedding, and footwear.
After accepting these, please bless me!

[9] Offering Goddesses

Now, as you recite the following verses, imagine the sky is filled with wisdom dakinis, each carrying the items described. Imagine that they present the items to the Lama and then dissolve back into emptiness:

The manner of goddess giving rise to desire in the Conqueror;
Goddesses who bestow the bliss of forms, sounds, smells, tastes and objects of touch;
Mirrors, lutes, incense pots and vessels for eating and drinking;
Beautiful cloth and bhagyanam flowers;

Goddesses who support with the sounding of drums and khatvalam;
[Goddesses of] white, blue, yellow, red and green forms;
Goddesses of beautiful forms, melodious songs, and those possessing smells and tastes;
Beautiful maidens who have happiness, youth and pride.
I offer [these] to the lama and host of deities filling the sky.

The goddesses of the complete enjoyment of illusory supreme bliss;
The goddesses possessing various flutes and drums;
The goddesses who excite and flirt, while dancing and singing;
Goddesses of flowers, incense, lamps and fragrances;

Goddesses of forms, tastes, objects of touch and the source of phenomena;
Goddesses of the perfectly complete portions of the sixteen joys;
May this display of joyful vajra goddesses, please the vajra-mind of you Heruka!

[10] Various Enjoyments

Now offer an array of items which please the Lama and fulfill the wishes of beings:

Excellent pool of cleansing;
Divine cloth which is blissful to the touch;
The supreme of vehicles, such as the
garuda, bull, peacock, elephant, horse and so forth;

Wish-granting cow who gives rise to whatever is needed;
Harvest which arises without toil;
Wish-fulfilling tree and the supreme of fruits;
Excellent [treasure] vase; I offer these by filling space.

I also offer my body, enjoyments and all virtues [accumulated] in the three times.
After filling the realms with precious gems, silver, pearls, and vaidurya, I offer these.

Mountains of the seven precious gems, blue sapphires,
white diamonds, red rubies, green coral,
yellow topaz, and lunar crystals;
Making as many offerings as there are atoms in the universe.

Five coloured utpala lotuses, the three types of medicine, karnikara flowers, malika and yuthika flowers and also karawira flowers, I offer these to you by the power of [my] concentration.

Through making offerings of a jewelled throne of fearless lion; the supreme seat of lotus, sun and moon; excellent earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings; and [other] offerings made of gold;

With garlands of silk and crown ornaments hanging, similarly with red victory banners, and likewise with yellow, white and black cloth, and other varieties of cloth; many garlands of flowers; canopies and bolts of silk-ribbons hanging; very beautiful curtains; and like that, the best food and drinks; [these] should be offered with meditative equipoise.

Many hundreds of thousands of pieces of gold; a variety of precious jewels; hundreds of those dressed only in cotton; elephants, horses and the kingdom; beautiful consorts and maidens; male and female servants, sisters and those possessing intelligence who are completely pure; even [our own bodies], are made as offerings.

[11] Secret Offerings

Then, recalling the innate purity of the sublime emptiness, make an offering of suchness:

The foods of the five nectars are the supreme suchness of all Siddhas. The food of the five lamps are the main vows of all the Buddhas. The supreme drink which pacifies without evil is the five types of intoxication which are made with honey, molasses, barley and wood. We make these offerings of wisdom as well.

OM AH HUNG

By instantly joining method and wisdom, the nature which pervades all three realms with the peace and happiness of perfectly pure appearances, [may we] please the lama by making [these] secret offerings.
